I have had my set for 5 months and if anything they are too sharp. The main thing i noticed right away is the coating on them is not a thick coating of stainless steel. So i don't let them stay in water but wash them immediately. I am very happy with the ease of use daily. I would recommend them to anyone.

Awful Customer Service! I purchased 4 sets approx. 6 years ago. I called on 06-25-11 the customer service number 800-793-2186 and pressed 1 to speak to someone in english. Instead I recevied someone who could hardly say or spell name. I called becaused the knifes have become very dull (I can't even cut a tomatoe). I wanted the knifes replaced since they came with a lifetime warranty however after 30mins on the phone and the male refused to let me speak to someone else and still could not spell my name I disconnected. I guess that is there way of getting out of lifetime warranty, they hope that everyone becomes as frustrated as me and gives up, but I will not I will review on every site I can find.

Bought these about 5 years ago. We still use them as our main cutlery, at least the big knives. The steak knives are used more for packages than food these days because they wont even cut your finger. They went dull around month 9. Tried to use the Rock n Chop to cut Panchetta the other day and could not even get it through the meat. I pulled out a Hinkle Chef's Knife I purchased 17 years ago and it cut like butter. The little balls are definitely helpful when holding a knife and my wife loves the knife that bends to make it easy to scoop things up. The long serrated knives were excellent and one is still sharp. These work great on cutting large items such as watermelon all the way through. So I have been somewhat happy with the design and usage. Unfortunately, I thought they would stay sharper longer. Anyone who thinks about safety in the kitchen knows that a sharp knife is safe and a dull knife can be dangerous. I rate them only a three because they did what they were suppose to do but didnt do it for long. Now I have the decision to try and get them replaced under the lifetime warranty and pay the shipping or applying that shipping to a nicer set of knives that I can sharpen myself when they get dull.

Out of the box, these were the sharpest blades I've ever used. 1 year later, they are dulling. I love the plastic ball on the top of the rock and chop, and the chop and scoop are great. As soon as I got them, yes - I threw a tomato in the air and the all purpose slicer slid right through it. Pros: Very sharp, very comfortable. Cheap. Cons: Sharpness starts degrading in about 6 months.

We have had the complete set for six months. The steak knives are being used for general purpose, because they are originally sharp. Each knife gets dull. Even professional knives require continual resharping. Why would any one expect different from a cheaper product. I bought them as a complete set because our small town doesn't carry anything of quality. The closest place is a 2 hour drive. They are good if you tell yourself they will all be thrown away in a years time.

Not sure why others had a bad experience with the knives or customer service. True, they may not be professional grade for the restaurant chef but for an everyday knife set in the average kitchen they are great. Got my first set with a butcher block holder around 10 yrs ago. Some of the knives dulled so in 2006 I used their warranty and got a full replacement set for $19.95. It's cheaper to get a full set rather than pay for individual knives. Now in 2011, some of the knives dulled again but the two original carvers are still pretty sharp. I called customer service, got right through, and they are sending a new full set to me again for $15.95. I even get to keep my old ones. They offered to sell me an additional set for $15.95 if I wanted one. Overall I think the knives are great, especially the two main carver knives of the set which never seem to dull even with daily use. And the option to get a new sharp set for just $15.95 if they ever dull is great.

MiracleBlade.com is a scam. I ordered and received two steak knife sets, but they also shipped and charged me for two complete sets. Although I returned them with their pre-addressed label. They won't reimburse me because they claim they never received them. I will never order from them again.

My rock n chop blade is all rusted with black stains on one side. It's like not coated or not actual stainless steel. My other blades are fine and I like them.

The blades are thick and are much like using a sharpened oversized butter knife. I recommend paying a little more than your used to if you want a good knife. I tried to use a cheapy knife to cut a can, it worked just as well. I was just curious.

I have a set and I use them every day, I can see how they will get dull especially on my Tempered Glass Cutting Board because the blade is not straight and instead a bunch of curves that are like teeth. The Bread Knife is GREAT. and for everyday usage they are good.

I bought myself a set with the block for Christmas about 6 years ago. I LOVE THEM! They are still sharp and the long ones that are shown to cut through drywall or soda cans do just that if you need them too. I later bought a set for both sister in laws and one for my daughter. I actually had to re-learn how to use a knife because these were so sharp that I kept cutting myself. Very good investment.

The knives were really good at first. Very sharp! But after about 6 months they went dull. I tried sharpening them and it didn't help much. I liked them while they were sharp, but you'll have to replace them constantly if you want to keep up the sharpness. Also the knives are kind of odd sizes, and don't fit well in my drawers. The scissors are nice though, I still use those!

They are sharp as any medium quality knife. The set lacks the very important "Chef Knife". I would recommend putting the money towards 1 very good chef knife, and I guarentee you'll use it much more.

I have 2 broken knives and a broken scissors. I ordered replacement knives in Nov. 2006. My account was charged for shipping and handling in December but I have yet to receive any knives. Over 3 months now. I have been kept on hold for approx.45 minutes minutes every time I call and then they tell me to give it another week. I have given it 12 weeks. One person last month said they were never shipped but she would make sure they ship FedEx from the corporate office. The next person I spoke to said she lied they don't ship Fedex. I am still waiting for this to be resolved.
