I liked everything about this contraption except for the fact the pasta tastes terrible out of the microwave. This item really disappointed me because of how optimistic I felt about it. Of course this was prior to having tasted the pasta after cooking it in the microwave. I tried it a few more times, but it yielded the same bad taste. This is partly my fault because I set myself up for disappointment when I bought a plastic container for microwaving. Either way it s*cks!

I received the Pasta Boat as a gift from a co-worker about a year ago. At first it seemed pretty innovative and even helpful. However, after using it a few times I just cannot get past the taste of microwave pasta. It tastes very artificial due to the fact Pasta Boat is a plastic container. I do not think this is a wise or healthy way to cook pasta, so I am not longer using it.

We love using the pasta boat. We add a little bit of olive oil to the water before cooking to prevent sticking, and the pasta comes out perfect everytime. Highly recommend!

I followed the directions exactly and the mixture boiled over and made a huge mess and I still didn't have any cooked pasta. I had high hopes for this product but am Very disappointed!

I got Pasta Boat in Walgreens for a cheap price. I live alone, so this is a good tool to use to cook my favorite spaghetti. It's perfect and does not require much effort to prepare a meal. I told my mom about it, and she mentioned how she wanted to have one for herself. Now we're both able to cook not just pasta, but also to steam vegetables like broccoli green beans and more.

This is a practical solution if you live alone or maybe are cooking for only two. However, for a family of 4 like mine, I prefer conventional cooking. If you cook more than the suggested amount, it will boil over and create a mess inside the microwave.

After I moved out from my mom's house, I didn't have many kitchen items. I am thankful that I have Pasta Boat to cook pasta anytime I want. It's not complicated, just simple instructions to follow and I'm ready to eat. Back home, me and my mother needed to boil water and stir constantly to have perfect pasta, but this didn't require such effort.

I bought mine with no hassle on shipping and handling. I got it from Amazon and didn't pay much for it. About its functionality, I could make two servings of spaghetti and cooked it only for less than 15 minutes. I like how you can cook, strain and serve in one container. It's really awesome.

FINALLY!! A "made-for-TV" product that actually does what it claims to do. I love this product and have not only used it for pasta, but also for white and sweet potatoes and the results have been perfect. Just make sure that you put a little olive oil in with your pasta to prevent it from clumping together. It's best when cooking for one or two people and leftovers can be stored right in the boat. OK, one problem: I don't think the "well" in the base of the boat is necessary, but maybe that's just me.

I purchased the Pasta Boat at Bed Bath & Beyond for $10.00. I must say it is the best invention since the mouse trap! I love Italian cooking but hated to have a boiling pot on the stove and then having to get out my collander to strain the hot, steamy water & pasta. The Pasta Boat makes cooking a breeze in the microwave and with its built in strainer, there's no hot steamy pot to deal with when straining the cooked pasta. I love my Pasta Boat and it's $10.00 well spent. I highly recommend this product.

When I first received the Pasta Boat, I was stoked and couldn't wait to try it. After using it a few times, though, I was disappointed that it could cook only 4 cups at a time. Despite the fact that they don't provide good instructions about cooking time, I figured out a system that works just fine for me. Pasta Boat not the best paster cooker I';ve ever had, but have found it';s good enough for me.

I cook a lot of pasta for the whole family and, after using the Pasta boat, I still prefer the traditional way of cooking pasta. Cooking time is almost the same and this product is not economical for us. I also don't like to put plastic containers in the microwave.

The Pasta Boat is better than other pasta cookers I've tried and perfect for my recipes. It has its own strainer, so you don't need to use a separate one. The pasta I've cooked has come out neither hard or mushy. I recommend it for anyone who is overly busy or living alone. Best of all it's not limited to just pasta. I've also made rice and vegetables and all have tasted delicious.

If you are someone like me who doesn't enjoy cooking but loves Italian food such as pasta or spaghetti then I highly recommend the Pasta Boat. It's super easy to use plus works in your microwave. I have been using mine now for about a year. I simply love it!

  16. On January 4, 2011  from AK wrote this review:

I live alone so I don't cook much. I love pasta that's why I was happy to see Pasta Boat in the nearby mall. Now it's easier to have a real al dente pasta. It decreased the cooking time by half to conventional pot boiling. The only thing I can complain about is the lid does not always stay in place and that has resulted in water spilling over the side of the container.

Love this product! Was skeptical of the TV sales pitch, as most of us are. However, this is the real deal. Works exactly as promoted. Gave it to my wife as a bit of a joke gift for Christmas but secretly hoped it would be a hit. She approved after first use. Great for both angle hair and penne style pasta. Cooks in microwave in about 25 minutes. Frees up the stove top when cooking. Found it for about $10 at Walgreens. No more big pans of boiling water!
