This thing doesnt work. It never detects when to turn on and get hot, so you just sit there wiggling it around, trying to get it to heat up. I have not successfully soldered a single thing yet. I reccommend using a cheap, traditional method.

I use this as well as traditional soldering irons. The Cold Heat works well in certain circumstances. Sometimes I end up having to break out the traditional iron. Overall it was worth the $19.

I ordered this to work on jewelry and the tips broke right away, never got to solder and threw it away

I tried it right away and it was awkward to use and didn't get hot enough to heat the connection and the solder for a good flow. Battery eater as well. I immediately boxed it up and presented it to a neighbor. Note: A standard soldering iron is best for a good bond.

This tool is a little tricky to use because you have to get it lined up just right so it does take some practice. Once I got the hang of how to hold it though it worked great for my small projects! Also, the tip is a bit delicate and may break but you can get a replacement tip and then it's as good as new. over all, I think it's worth the purchase.
